Sunlight vs Blackout Curtains

The Dale Library features west-facing windows fitted with blackout curtains, allowing full control over natural light when required.
In addition, the space includes south-facing windows that provide a continuous soft glow of natural light throughout the day. This consistent illumination creates a bright yet balanced atmosphere, making the room particularly well suited for portraits, interviews, and editorial photography.
During the afternoon, direct sunlight enters through the west-facing windows and gradually sweeps across the room as the sun lowers in the sky. This produces striking bands of natural light and shadow that can be used creatively, depending on the weather conditions and time of year.
In the morning, a warm reflected glow bounces in from the neighbouring buildings, creating a gentle, diffused ambient light that fills the space without harsh contrast.
Wispy, semi-translucent curtains are also available on request, allowing the natural light to be softened further for a more delicate, atmospheric look.
